(1 Kings 15; 2 Chronicles 13)
耶罗波安当王第十八年的时候，亚比雅当上了犹大王。
In the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam’s reign, Abijah became king of Judah.
他在耶路撒冷当了三年王。
He reigned in Jerusalem for three years.
亚比雅和耶罗波安关系一直不好，俩人经常打仗。
Abijah and Jeroboam had always had a bad relationship, and they often went to war against each other.
有一次，亚比雅带着四十万精兵去跟耶罗波安打仗。
One time, Abijah took four hundred thousand mighty soldiers to fight against Jeroboam.
耶罗波安一看，也不含糊，直接带了八十万精兵过来。
When Jeroboam saw this, he did not back down and brought eight hundred thousand mighty soldiers.
耶罗波安还偷偷在犹大军队后面安排了伏兵。
Jeroboam also secretly placed an ambush behind the army of Judah.
犹大人一回头，发现坏了！
When the men of Judah turned around, they realized they were in trouble!
前面有敌人，后面也有敌人，自己被包围了。
There were enemies in front of them and enemies behind them—they were surrounded.
这下他们也没别的办法了，就赶紧向耶和华祷告。
They had no other choice, so they quickly cried out to the Lord.
祭司吹响号角，犹大人一起大声呼喊。
The priests blew the trumpets, and the men of Judah shouted loudly together.
就在他们呼喊的时候，神出手了！
While they were shouting, God intervened!
神把耶罗波安和以色列军队打败了。
God defeated Jeroboam and the army of Israel.
以色列人吓得赶紧逃跑，犹大人就在后面追。
The Israelites became afraid and quickly fled, and the men of Judah chased after them.
那一天，以色列死了五十万精兵。
That day, five hundred thousand of Israel’s mighty soldiers died.
犹大这次能够打赢，不是因为他们人多，也不是因为他们比别人厉害，而是因为他们依靠耶和华。
Judah was able to win this battle, not because they had more people or because they were stronger than others, but because they relied on the Lord.
亚比雅乘胜追击，又攻下了伯特利、耶沙拿和以法拉音几个地方。
Abijah continued his victory and captured Bethel, Jeshanah, and Ephron.
从这以后，耶罗波安的势力越来越弱，再也没有以前那么强了。
After this, Jeroboam’s power became weaker and weaker, and he was never as strong as before.
后来，耶罗波安死了。
Later, Jeroboam died.
亚比雅的势力却越来越强大。
But Abijah’s power continued to grow stronger.
他有十四个妻妾，一共生了二十二个儿子和十六个女儿。
He had fourteen wives and concubines, and together they had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
再后来亚比雅也去世了，葬在大卫城。
Later, Abijah also died and was buried in the City of David.
他儿子亚撒接着他做了犹大王。
His son Asa succeeded him as king of Judah.
有时在我们生活中，前面看是困难，后面也是困难，好像已经没路了。
Sometimes in our lives, there are difficulties in front of us and difficulties behind us, and it seems like there is no way forward.
但是我们从这段圣经故事里学到怎样的道理？
