“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) ✝️
Brief Reflection
This story reminds us that no concern is too small for God. The Lord cares about every detail of our lives and invites us to bring our worries, needs, and burdens to Him. When we trust Him, He is able to help in ways we could never imagine. 🙏
Scripture: 2 Kings 6:1–7
As the number of the prophets’ disciples continued to grow, the place where they lived became too small.
One day, they said to the prophet Elisha:
“The place where we meet with you is too small for us. Let us go to the Jordan River, where each of us can cut down a tree and build a larger place to live.”
Elisha agreed.
Then they said,
“Please come with us.”
So Elisha went with them.
When they arrived at the Jordan, they began cutting down trees to build a new dwelling place.
As one of the men was chopping down a tree, the iron axe head suddenly flew off the handle and fell into the water.
The man cried out in distress:
“Oh no, my lord! It was borrowed!”
In those days, iron tools were expensive. For a poor disciple of the prophets, replacing the borrowed axe would have been very difficult. He was deeply troubled.
Elisha asked,
“Where did it fall?”
After the man showed him the spot, Elisha cut a stick and threw it into the water.
Then a miracle happened.
The iron axe head floated to the surface.
Elisha said,
“Pick it up.”
So the man reached out his hand and took it.
Although this miracle may seem small compared to the healing of Naaman or the raising of the dead, it reveals God’s power and compassion. God not only cares about kings, nations, and great events, but also about the everyday needs and struggles of ordinary people.
