话说，耶和华要用旋风把以利亚接走。
Now, the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind.
这天，以利亚领着徒弟以利沙，从吉甲往伯特利走。
That day, Elijah took his disciple Elisha and went from Gilgal toward Bethel.
走在半道上的时候，以利亚就跟以利沙说：
Along the way, Elijah said to Elisha:
“徒弟，耶和华让我去伯特利，你就别去了，在这儿等着吧。”
“My disciple, the Lord has sent me to Bethel, so you stay here and wait.”
以利沙一听，脖子一梗：
When Elisha heard this, he stubbornly shook his head and said:
“那可不行！我拿永生的耶和华起誓，也拿你的命起誓，我怎么也不离弃你！”
“No way! As surely as the Lord lives, and as surely as you live, I will never leave you!”
就这样，俩人就一块儿到伯特利去了。
So the two of them went together to Bethel.
到了那儿一看，当地的先知徒弟们都出来了，凑到以利沙跟前小声说：
When they arrived, the sons of the prophets there came to Elisha and quietly said:
“小沙，你知道不？今天耶和华要把你师傅接走了！”
“Elisha, do you know? The Lord is going to take your master away today!”
以利沙说：
Elisha said:
“我知道，你们别嚷嚷。”
“I know. Be quiet about it.”
接着，以利亚又跟以利沙说：
Then Elijah said to Elisha again:
“徒弟，耶和华让我去耶利哥，你就在这儿待着。”
“My disciple, the Lord has sent me to Jericho, so you stay here.”
以利沙还是那句话：
Elisha gave the same answer:
“我拿永生的耶和华起誓，也拿你的命起誓，我怎么也不会离开你！”
“As surely as the Lord lives, and as surely as you live, I will never leave you!”
于是俩人就又来到了耶利哥。
So the two of them went on to Jericho.
耶利哥那帮先知徒弟也围了上来，又是那一套：
The sons of the prophets in Jericho also came around them and said the same thing:
“你知道不？今儿个你师傅要被接走了！”
“Do you know? Your master is going to be taken away today!”
以利沙还是那话：
Elisha answered the same way:
“我知道，你们别嚷嚷。”
“I know. Be quiet about it.”
过了会儿，以利亚第三回开口了：
After a while, Elijah spoke to him for the third time:
“徒弟，耶和华让我去约旦河，你就在这儿等着吧。”
“My disciple, the Lord has sent me to the Jordan River, so you stay here.”
以利沙偏不听那个，倔呀，你怎么说我就是那句话：
But Elisha refused to listen, stubborn as ever, and gave the same answer:
“我拿永生的耶和华起誓，也拿你的命起誓，我说啥也不离开你！”
“As surely as the Lord lives, and as surely as you live, I will never leave you!”
结果俩人就一块儿往约旦河那边走。
So the two of them went on together toward the Jordan River.
后头还有五十个先知徒弟，远远地站着，伸着脖子看。
Fifty of the sons of the prophets followed them and stood at a distance, watching closely.
到了约旦河边，俩人站住了。
When they reached the Jordan River, the two of them stopped there.
这河水哗哗的，咋过去啊？
The river was rushing along, and how were they going to cross it?
只见以利亚把自己那件外衣一脱，卷巴卷巴，照着河水就是一下子！
Then Elijah took off his cloak, rolled it up, and struck the water with it!
嘿！结果河水唰一下就分到两边去了，中间露出一条干巴路，俩人就这么走了过去，鞋都没湿。
And look! The water suddenly divided to both sides, leaving a dry path in the middle, and the two of them walked across without even getting their shoes wet.
神奇不神奇。
Pretty amazing, huh?
过了河，以利亚就跟以利沙说：
After they had crossed the river, Elijah said to Elisha:
“徒弟，我马上就要被接走了，临走前你有啥想要的，尽管说。”
“My disciple, I am about to be taken away from you. Tell me what you want me to do for you before I am taken away.”
以利沙也没绕弯子，直接开口说道：
Elisha did not beat around the bush. He answered directly:
“师傅，愿感动你的灵加倍地感动我。”
“Master, please let a double portion of your spirit rest on me.”
以利亚一听，说：
When Elijah heard this, he said:
“你所求的难得。
“You have asked for a difficult thing.
虽然如此，我被接去离开你的时候，你若看见我，就必得着；不然，必得不着。”
“Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours; but if you do not, it will not be yours.”
俩人一边走一边说，突然——
As they were walking along and talking, suddenly—
天上冒出来火车火马，呼地一下子，把俩人给隔开了！
A chariot of fire and horses of fire suddenly appeared and separated the two of them!
以利亚就坐着旋风，直接升天了！
And Elijah was taken up into heaven in a whirlwind!
以利沙只能看着，扯着嗓子喊：
Elisha could only watch and cry out:
“我父啊！我父啊！以色列的战车马兵啊！”
“My father! My father! The chariot and horsemen of Israel!”
喊完，再也看不着以利亚了。
After he cried out, he could no longer see Elijah.
以利沙此时那是相当难受啊，一把抓住自己的衣服，“刺啦”一下撕成两半，悲痛万分。
Elisha was deeply grieved, so he grabbed his own clothes and tore them in two, mourning bitterly.
然后他弯腰把以利亚掉下来的那件外衣捡起来，回到约旦河边，他在河边站了许久。
Then he bent down, picked up Elijah’s cloak that had fallen from him, and returned to the bank of the Jordan River, where he stood for a while.
突然他学着以利亚的样子，拿外衣照河水就是一下，嘴里喊着：
Suddenly, he did as Elijah had done, struck the water with the cloak, and cried out:
“耶和华，以利亚的神呢？你在哪儿呢？”
“Where is the Lord, the God of Elijah?”
话音刚落，河水唰地的一下分开了，以利沙大步走了过去。
As soon as he said this, the water divided, and Elisha walked across on dry ground.
对岸耶利哥那帮先知徒弟，把这一幕看得清清楚楚，都说：
The sons of the prophets who were watching from Jericho saw it clearly and said:
“感动以利亚的灵感动以利沙了。”
“The spirit that rested on Elijah is now resting on Elisha.”
于是他们赶紧跑过来迎接他，在他面前一个个都趴在地上，给他行大礼。
So they hurried over to meet him, bowed down before him, and showed him great respect.
