News Report: Chester Cathedral Celebrates Worldwide Mission

Chester Cathedral in England hosted “God of All the World: A Celebration of Worldwide Mission” on September 26.

The event showcased international partnerships between the Diocese of Chester and churches in other parts of the world. Bishop Anthony Poggo, Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, attended the event and shared stories from churches across different regions of the Anglican Communion.

The report particularly highlighted Vision 36, an initiative being advanced by the Anglican Communion. Its goal is to begin, plant, or restore one million churches over the next decade. The proposal previously received support from the Anglican Consultative Council at ACC-19, and funding is still being sought.

The event also focused on the Church’s work in public health and community service, including the efforts of churches in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as they respond to Ebola outbreaks and ongoing conflict.

🙏 Pray for Christians living in religiously diverse communities. Ask God to give them wisdom, humility, courage, and faithfulness to the gospel while showing respect toward people of other faiths. Pray that churches may be witnesses of truth, love, peace, and reconciliation.
